OZ Electrician Cert, (Vic) NOT for migration purposes
Hi all,
Hubby and I are already in Oz, 10 months now, and already have the PR, based on hubby's Electrical Engineering degree and experience. However, he got certified as an electrician before doing his degree. He's now looking to get it recognized and take any courses deemed necessary to get up to speed. Just some specifics: Certification is from Switzerland General Electrician Certified in 97 and hasn't worked as an electrician since 1999 or so. Living and working in Melbourne area (south) Who do we contact and what would he need to do to get it recognized? Would his lack of work experience hinder or completely rule recognition out? He's currently a production engineer, but would rather combine both qualifications into a more hands-on job. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

To apply for it he would need to be able to meet the following criteria: Have -
Once he has an ARTC certificate the next step is this: http://www.esv.vic.gov.au/ForElectri...9/Default.aspx If he can't meet the criteria for an ARTC then he may need to attend Tafe to do a course. The course is 4 years long, but he should get recognition of prior learning (RPL). I'm afraid I can't help with details about that, you'd have to contact them direct. Hope that helps :) |
