Default Melbourne: contacts for finding apprenticeship.

Hey all,

Have run aground with getting license sorted out.

I completed apprenticeship in Electrical Instrumentation in Ireland last year. While this allows me to work as a fully qualified electrician in Ireland, due to some issues with curriculum, TRA would only issue an "Electrical Fitter (instruments)" certificate, which you can't use to get an A-grade license here. If it was just Electrical Fitter it would.

I live in Melbourne now, and just want progress. While its not ideal, I'd be happy to complete an apprenticeship here, where I could skip some of it by recognition of prior learning.

However, I don't have any contacts in the industry here and am not sure about which companies are the big players and who may have work on.

Anyone have any advice or contacts to help me get my foot in the door somewhere?

Thanks!

Eoin (Owen)
