Hi all im new here, me and my partner are considering relocating to aus, iam currently an industrial spark (time served in commercial and domestic) is there much work for industrial sparks out there and does any body know the average wage? iam also interested in getting into the HV side of things maybe Hv jointing, am i best off doing a Hv jointing course over here (uk) and does this course apply in australia or will it be a totaly different course over there? any info would be much appreciated thanks...

Hi there,

There's plenty of industrial work in WA, with more big projects starting soon. Quite a lot of industrial work coming up in Queensland as well and there's a big LNG plant that's just been given the go ahead near Darwin. Pay and conditions are better than the UK, especially if you're willing to do FIFO (fly in fly out) work in more remote locations.

Probably better to wait till you got to Aus to get your HV ticket.

Thanks for the reply, been researching abit into wa and how to get your a license etc and its all a little confusing, im attending an employment expo this month so hopefully get lots of info from there. Just out of. Interest does any body know if you where offered a job and relocation how long would you get to relocate?
