Hi guys,

Im wondering has anybody found themselves in my position before.Here it goes,I did things a little backwards i.e I came over on a working holiday visa and during that time I gained my ARTC and then went on to gain my Agrade licence.I am now still in Perth with 7 months left on my visa and I am appling for permanant residency,ITS SO CONFUSING,I thought the artc/a grade process was bad!Well here is my question,do I still have to do a vetass course to recognise my quals,im told I do by some people but it just makes no sense at all!!??

My understanding is that vetasses is for immigration only and has nothing to go with licences. Others will be able to confirm this as I never done the vetasses as it didn't exist when I applied for my PR.

Ya I think your right about the vetasses being for immigration purposes but its purpose is to make sure you meet australian standards,surely being an a grade electrician goes above and beyond,why more testing!Im guessing money raquet!
