The pay in the work im offered is only $25 per hour, is this right as i was getting this 10yrs ago sparking as a backpacker? can anyone recomend any agencies i can sign up with and give me an idea of what i should be earning? im in sydney. cheers.

I'm not sure about how much more you'd get in Sydney, but in SA my hubby is on $26 per hour plus $4.50 loading for working afternoons and he has a licence. But then that is in a factory, not sure if domestic sparkies are on more or less than that.

Once you get licenced, you'll probably have some bargaining power, without it it's usually very difficult to even get work.

Hubby used Hudson to get him work, they were really helpful so worth a phone call. http://www.hudsonresourcing.com.au/n...?KWD=contactus

Not there yet mate but is that not about right. $25 aint bad without your licence. Think you'l find it wont go up to much more than $30 once youve got the licence???

Yep. Started on $22 and currently on $25. Van, fuel, all materials, phone. As Steve'o says, once I get my licence I'll be after $30. He'll pay it too.

up in cairns started on $22 casual for a couple of months to see if i was up to it. then $25 fulltime. supposedly getting a vehicle very soon. completion statement forwarded to licence dept so should have ticket and bargaining power shortly. most i know of here is $31 an hour but thats the absolute max.seems that you get better pay down south.$25 to $27 is the norm up here. overtime always there but im sure thats not why we all came out here. got a boy working for us who was pulling $1500 to $2000 a week very recently in sydney working on a high rise.
