Default Electrician requiring advice?

Hi, Could someone give me a little advice?
We are currently going through the Visa 175 process and we will be attending our Medicals this weekend. Everything else seems fine and if we all get a clean bill of health from the medicals we hope to be getting our Visa's soon!!
My question is this: If all being we hope to be on our way to Oz early to mid next year, should i be applying for any Licenses yet? I have been successful with the TRA (General Electrician) I am a 36 years old fully qualified 16th edition Electrician with testing & inspection 2391.
We are hoping to live in the Perth area.
Many Thanks.

you need to apply for the artc
http://www.workplace.gov.au/workplac...nresidents.htm

you`ll need an australian address to send it to ( use a mates )

this will speed things up by about six weeks when you arrive

regards steve

Cheers Steve'o,
Is that the only thing that I need to apply for? Only the TRA certificate that I received states that as well as the ARTC (which i've been given the web site: www.tiwa.com.au, but all i can see on this site is courses, have you any advise? is this the correct site?) The TRA cert mentions "Electrical Licensing contact: at "Energysafety.wa.gov.au" Do I need to apply for this as well?
Are you an Electrician based in Oz? If so how's it going, do you miss anything (work related) from Britain (i'm assuming you were originally from Britain?)
Regards
Mark
