Re: Do you need to send photo evidence to get your artc?
Hi guys,
Can you guys tell me what certificates TRA are looking for to get the ARTC? I have a C&G 2330 Level 3, 17th edition, C&G2391 and I am alomost finished with NVQ3 so will be able to apply with a JIB electrician's card. I have been in the trade for about 8.5 years and can prove 95% of it. Will this be enough for them to give me a ARTC?
Thanks

I should imagine that would be sufficient with regards certificates as you have all the important ones. You will need to back up your experience with company references or personal statements. The other guys can prob help more, they have their artc already.

What are tradespeople in Australia expected to be capable of?
You must demonstrate that you are capable of doing the same range of work at the same level of skill as a tradesperson trained in Australia.
The work of a tradesperson includes:
reading work instructions and technical drawings common to the trade;
planning independently the method and order of doing a job;
using measuring instruments correctly;
marking out, laying out and setting up trade work;
selecting appropriate materials, tools, machines and equipment;
making appropriate settings on tools, machines and equipment;
performing trade work independently; and
checking and/or testing work against established standards.
You must also demonstrate that you have sufficient theoretical or underpinning knowledge of the trade.
