Default Canada - Electrical Assistant

Hi
Am considering Canada as my location and have just attended a migration show at Sandown Park. I'm looking to move as an electrician's Mate.

I'm currently completing my Level 3 2330 City & Guilds and with just over a year's experience I meet both the required points and from what I have been told, the right to be employable as an assistant with a Contractor. I was told that if I found work in this role, I also would have 12 months to adjust to the Red Seal exam.

Anybody have any guidance on Canada? A lot on here for OZ...

Would people recommend an Agent or complete the paperwork yourself? The Agents do seem to have employment searches thrown in to boot, even though it's loads cheaper.
Cheers for any help
Andy
