can anyone tell me?
if i can apply for a work visa whilst i have a an application in for a permanant visa.
so if i took the vetasses then applied to emigrate to oz can i go on a working visa until to application is approved.
i have emailed this question to the embassy but all i get is an extract off their website about bridging visa which i can't make sense of, and it says that i will have to leave before it can be granted, which makes me think that i can.
i'm just desperate to get away and can't wait

I'm not 100% but if you are applying for a permanent visa from outside of Oz you must not be in the country when the decision is made.
The following statement is taken from the front of form 1276.
Applications for an ‘offshore’ GSM visa are usually made from
outside of Australia, however, you may make an ‘offshore’ visa
application while in Australia provided the conditions attached
to your current visa do not prevent you from doing so.
Applicants for an ‘offshore’ visa should be aware that it is a
requirement of these visas that the applicants be outside of
Australia for a visa to be granted. There is one exception to this
requirement where the main applicant is a New Zealand citizen
and in Australia as a holder of a Special Category (subclass 444)
visa. In this case you may be inside or outside of Australia and
the time your visa is granted.
