Yes mate things are not that rosy as you'd expect. Saying that there seems to be plenty of work ahead/planned in the pipeline the rates are not that good for us start up's.
You really need it to get A license to go anywhere quite hard having to go back to basics when all we want to do is get out there and make the money and lifestyle.

The big money is the mines as long as they still boom Perth will be good for work.

Def ARTC way vetasses def NO!!

Goodluck mate

Not sure how far along you are with your visa mate but Check out this thread on here

This is how it goes with WA electrical licensing as of today.

I'm landing in Perth on saturday and have spoken to Lesley Dryden myself ( Mentioned in the thread ) and have been told exaclty what the thread says.
I'm glad that i went the VETASSESS route as i have already been able to apply for the restricted liciense before leaving the UK and just have to enrol on the college course $292 if your on a PR visa.

Hope it helps

All the best mate

Cheers lads, it's all helpful!

It's just choosing what you think is the right path to take and then seeing it through I suppose.

I will be coming over to Aus very soon to apply for my ARTC. Just waiting on a few things here in the U.K first to enable me to finish putting my my "pack" together.

I'm thinking of new questions every day, so I'll be bothering you all again no doubt about that.

Andy
