ARTC while still in UK?

Hi, is there any way of applying for an ARTC while still in the UK?
My partner is a aussie citizen but UK qualified, we`re heading out to Perth in Dec and abit worried that hes gonna be sitting around for the first few months, or on a really low wage.. Any ideas??

Hi Katarina,

I don't think it's possible any more, as they check addresses provided, and you cannot use a UK address. The cost of an ARTC application is now up to $930, and I think you will still need to do the logbook to get a full A license. He will also need very detailed references for the ARTC application. The form changed recently, and there are a lot more questions to answer. I'm sure you've read the TRA website, but in case not it's here http://www.innovation.gov.au/Skills/...s/default.aspx
