ARTC Granted!!!
 

Just received confirmation today that i've been granted an ARTC as an Electrical Mechanic :D.

Thanks to everyone who helped with the process, I just have to get the License now so I can earn a decent wage.

Yes i'll be going down to PEER as it seems to be the best option. Hopefully i'll be doing it in the next 3 months or so.

hello all,

Congrats, i did PEER exam on the 13 Jan, they're very helpful and you have plenty time, do finish the course book because they will insist, i started the exam on the first day and finished the second day, down to the licensing centre and sat back and waited, one week and a day later fully licenced electrical workers licence,

Hi Shri, sorry i can't help you with that as i didn't sit any exams, i was granted artc on the paper work and evidence of electrical training and experience i sent.

Congrats to you also Kevin, i'll be sending for the workbook as soon as i have available funds :embaressed_smile: Unfortunately i'm working as an A/V Technician with no overtime until i get licensed and it isn't that well paid!

How did you find the workbook? I finished my apprenticeship in 1999 and haven't used the majority of theory since leaving college! I suppose it'll come back to me when i'm studying.

Hello All,

I hear what you say Barry, TA's pay isn't that clever, but we get by, i'm contracted at that rate until the end of March.

The work book was a pain, every time i picked it up i fell asleep, it's not the most interesting read, simple enough though. the guys at peer are really helpful with the calculations if you have a problem. i finished my studies in 1987.
