Panhandle

Hi, my father is now over 80yrs old and owns a car in cyprus that he uses when he goes to visit.
He has been told that after the age of 80, he no longer can be insured!
Is this true?
Can anybody advise me of this situation, as my father would be lost without his car whilst visiting there.
He still drives here in London and his age does not seem to matter.

Would be grateful for any advise.
