Taxes.
We are retired and emigrated from England to Canada 18 years ago. Now the grandkids are grown up, we plan to sell up and relocate to Crete in March.
Question. Do we have the option of paying taxes in the UK, or do we automatically pay in our permanent residence country, Greece?

Generally you pay your taxes in the country where you spend more than half the year, 'the 183 day rule', but tax law is very complicated and there can be exceptions. You really do need professional advice on taxes, and not forum advice - giving financial advice on an internet forum which is incorrect could leave it liable, so I will just point you to websites to start:
