I completely agree with everything you say Derrick, everything.

They don't want us here (even though we bring money to anotherwise heavily debted country). They can't see further than their own front yard, as long as its clean, stuff everyone else, and I don't just mean the wasted water there. I mean that they will do anything in their power to make sure they have everything they need or want, after that everyone can p*** off. They will disown their own families if they got fincial gain from it.

Its a very selfish nation ruined by money. They have no respect for their country either, the litter at the sides of the road is disgusting, oh, but then, its the foreigners that do that! Well thats who they blame anyway.

As I say, they can't see that foreigners bring money.

The EU is a joke here. I haven't seen any changes for the better at all. They want the status, but won't help things change.

Sorry for ranting, but I'm frustrated at yet another nightmare journey from Larnaca to Nicosia trying to stay safe and avoid a Cypriot from knocking me into the hard shoulder - oh sorry, there I go again - foreigners are blamed for the poor driving here, not the locals.:sneaky:

Never mind the morals. Ask about the water supply, or more likely, the lack of it.

Otherwise, Cyprus was Britain's last colony and they fought the British for independance and look where it got them. Probably, many people on this forum do not even know what EOKA is.

Wow! All I can say is "one man's meat is another man's poison!"

I've never lived in Cyprus, but have lived in other places in Europe and I've always found this to be the case. You can't make your decisions based on other people. You also should never assume that life is going to be like it was when you were on holiday.

I've always said that before you go to another country, make at least 3 or 4 "look and see" trips. See it at different times of the year if possible. Only when you feel you have fully researched it, should you make the move.

But don't let others put you off - it's so exciting!

oh my god this is all so interesting lol...my boyfriend has gone back to Cyprus as hes a sportsman there...im visiting at xmas...i run a successful business here and love living in uk..but i love him !!! I dont think im going to like cyprus after reading all this.,.maybe its better if youre with a cypriot? I can imagine what the ex pats are like.. this is good reading tho.... i will report back when ive seen for myself!!:thumbsup:

ooops...what did i say about ex pats ...xx i know nothing about ex pats....nothing! hope i didnt offend anyone... whats it like for yoga and pilates in cyprus? Thats what i do..trouble is London is sooooooooooooo happening....any forty something ex punks out there lol..xxx would i have anything in common with anyone? hehehe:wub:

OMG WELL I WILL JUST HAVE TO SEE ooops what the universe has in store for me and where life will take me...all i know is im in love...wont be there to live for a year coz he has to do a year in the army...maybe i could start a network group for ex pat women with cypriot boyfriends/husbands....someone has to be responsible for getting some vibe going there..and im good at that lol...:thumbsup::)
