Default Free Greek Lessons

The Ministry of Education and Culture offers free Greek language courses especially tailored for you to:

· help you develop networks of contacts
· expand your job opportunities
· get acquainted with the practical aspects of daily life
· participate in the political, cultural and social affairs of Cyprus

Course characteristics:

Greek language courses will be offered within the framework of the “Programme for Greek Language Teaching Applicable to Migrants and Other Foreign Language Speaking Residents of Cyprus” free of charge. Courses for the new school year will start in November 2011. Small groups of 10 to 15 students will meet twice a week for two, 90-minute sessions. Classes will be conducted by experienced Greek language teachers especially trained in adult education.

The courses will be offered at the following levels: Level A’, for persons who are beginners or have minimum knowledge of Greek, Level B’, for persons who have basic oral and written Greek language skills, and Level C’, for persons who can communicate at a satisfactory degree orally and in writing. Levels B and C may prepare interested parties for the relevant examinations of the Ministry of Education and Culture.

The Project is Co-financed by the European Social Fund of the EU.

Some people will say that it is pointless learning Greek, as in Cyprus, especially the villages, speak a dialect. This may be so, but if you make a little effort, you will reap great rewards in the contact you have with Cypriots. remember, the dialect may be different, but the letters are the same, so you can at least read in Greek.

Do not let others influence you in not learning Greek, if you want to, do it, and let the others carry on just speaking English, as it suits them or are too lazy to learn Greek

Hi, i do not have anything to do with the Greek Lessons, sorry. I just posted it as information for people. You have to follow it up yourself. I do not have any further information.

The yellow slip is your residents registration certificate.

Hope it helps.
