Default Buying furniture & white goods in Cyprus

Hi all
Just a short one, We are planning on buying a property in Paphos and was wondering where's the best place for buying furniture and white goods if we buy unfurnished.
Info on quality, price and delivery would be much appreciated.
Kind regards Andy.

There are numerous furniture shops along the Mesogi road and also electrical shops. Scanda is the most reasonable electrical shop.
However if you are buying a resale most will come with white goods.

Thanks again Veronica for your information, we have booked to come over in March and are viewing properties that are furnished and unfurnished.
Can i ask you another question one property we are planning on viewing was built by a company called Hadjidemosthenos and the apartment is on the Diana 52 project. Have you heard of this company and do you have any info on them or the apartments.
Just a long shot question
Regards Andy.

Hadjidemosthenos are a good company. They are not only developers but also a construction company and do all their own building unlike many developers who use contractors.
They are one of the few developers that we as a company will deal with.
Diana 52 is one of their older developements so I assume you are looking at resales?

Hi Veronica thanks again for your response we found their website and had a good read up on them we feel that Diana 52 even though a old development is built to a very high standard and even Hadjidemosthenos still own some apartments there that they rent out.
We will be looking at 8 properties that we have seen on the internet and also calling into estate agents when we are over all are resale as they are cheaper they are mainly near paphos harbour and some between paphos and chlorakas.
So hopefully we will find one we will like.

Resales are definitely better value for money these days even if they may need some updating. But be careful about buying a resale that hans't got title deeds. If they are over 7 or 8 years old and don't have title deeds there may well be a problem such as moeny owed on the land by the developer etc. Not all lawyers are as scrupulous as other about doing the due diligence and if you have a sloppy lawyer you may end up with problems if there are no title deeds.

If you are on the budget, keep an eye on the Hotel's sellouts. Every 10 years they are required to refurnish/refurbish most of their furniture.
When we first moved to Cyprus we rented unfurnished and bought almost everything second hand. Sometimes it comes in handy

There are also many Facebook groups that are springing up, and in view of the recent developments in Cyprus, you should be able to pick up some real bargains there too.

Cheers for that Jessyt & Zygiman
The properties we are looking at now are all fully furnished so just waiting for the solicitor to let know its safer to buy so should be any day now.
Once again thanks :-)
