Will UK email me to make biometrics appointment? Spousal
 

Hi All,

My husband just applied for a UK Spousal visa online and we paid the fees. We ticked the box saying we wanted to do our biometrics at an Application Support Center in San Diego NOT at VFS Services.

Will we be sent an email by the UK visa service telling us how to make an appointment with the local ASC?
I ask because a note appeared on the application website saying something like "all applications now go through our local partner" and the website then sent us to VFS Services to upload our documents. I can see the next step on the VFS links (which we cannot open until we do the upload), will be to "Make an Appointment".

I am now confused as to how we make a biometrics appointment with the local ASC. Or are they are now forcing everyone to go to VFS? Does anyone know?

You’ll still do everything via VFS. It’s just the centre you’ll attend to provide your biometrics.

Thank you BritinParis. Yes, I understand. But how will I make the appointment with the ASC? Will I get an email from UK visas? Or do I make the appointment on the VFS website after I upload my documents? Thanks again! Sheryl

Thank you so much! I have done so much reading about this and printed out so much paper .... I thought I remembered an email to make the ASC appointment and feared I might do the wrong thing. You are so helpful on this forum. Sheryl

No worries. If the procedure has changed then the VFS website will give you the appropriate instructions once you’ve uploaded your documents.
