Default When to apply extension so I could go on holiday

Hi

Some Facts -
Visa granted - 6Nov2020 - 6 Aug2023
Entry into UK (delayed due to covid) - 17Apr2021 (delayed by 2 months 14 days)

Now I would need 2 extensions, while my daughter and son should hopefully for the 3 years routes to register as BC

I want to have a summer trip in 25 July 2023 for a week.

Option
1) $$$ but could go on holiday -- apply extension early in April, since I would need 2 extensions anyway
2) Could I avoid 2 extensions by applying as late as possible ?

Apply after you return in early August and use standard processing. You may well get away with the one FLR(M) application.

Thank you all and BritInParis

I used standard processing for FLR(M) and went to bio appointment on the last date allowed and waited 2 months for my visa approved; now "gained" 4 months so I will have enough time on my visa to meet 5 years ILR path
First entry - 17Apr2021
visa granted - 18Jun2026

With the massive increase in fees and requirements, this is a relief; Thank you
