Visiting Before Vignette Date
Hi All,
My wife has had her visa approved with a vignette window starting on the 27th June. We requested this as she will need to give notice at work.
However, there is a music festival she wishes to attend in the UK in May. Will there be issues visiting for a week prior to the vignette period?

If she’s not a visa national then it’s doable. Just make sure she has evidence of her return flight reservation. She’ll likely only be given leave to enter until then.

Sorry to bother you for your expert advice once more!
Is it possible for her to book a flight to say Dublin or Paris (rather than a return to LA) prior to her vignette date starting, and then booking a flight back here from there for when the vignette does start?
Circumstances have changed somewhat, and we have made a mistake in requesting a date so far in advance. It seems our ducks have aligned a lot quicker than we expected.

Border Control may freak out if you try and cut it that fine. Even if they do let you it only takes a cancelled flight/air control strike/angry Icelandic volcano and you could screw up your wife’s spouse visa. I would look to give yourself a minimum of 48 hours. Amsterdam is fine, but go for the weekend; fly out Friday, fly back Sunday.
