Ok sorry I realise this is a US marriage immigration board, but does anyone have any experiences / advice / sites that can give me information on getting my Fiance over from the US to the UK.
I have checked out all of the required information on the British Embassy site and also seen Narnias site at Velvet.net, I just wondered if anyone had any more information / experiences or knows of any more sites that can just put my mind at rest.
Thanks

See these links from my visa file. the process is actually quicker and cheaper than

To come to the UK to marry you, she requires 'Entry Clearance' - not a visa as such.
The procedure is much more straightforward and less arduous than the process in
reverse - i,.e., you going to the US to be with her. She will not get a "2 year
visa", but instead, provided you immigrate to UK, do indeed marry, permanant resident
status automatically.

The Entry Clearance must be obtained, in advance, via therelevant UK consulate
in the USA.

Here's an official website with fairly straightforward info. It's pretty easy - get
the visa in the US, come to the UK, get married and a year later apply for indefinite
leave to remain.

Your American fiance needs to apply for entry clearance from the nearest British
Consulate in the US. Here is their URL: http://www.britainusa.com
The entry clearance procedure is the same whether you are married or engaged, but it
is less paperwork in the UK, and he will be able to work immediately, if you marry in
the US before applying for the entry clearance.
