The wait is finally over for us!!! Please see our updated timeline below:

Non-straightforward notice & request for further document:
- 31st Aug 2017: 1st escalation
- 15th Sept 2017: 2nd escalation
- 26th Sept 2017: Received email that docs were not received by Sheffield although we had paid for scanning service in HK.
- 28th Sept 2017: 3rd escalation
- 29th Sept 2017:
10:00AM- Went into VFS Centre HK to complain and enquire into why my scanned docs were lost in the system. They double checked and confirmed docs were still on portal and accessible by Sheffield. Lady at VFS kindly dropped email to Sheffield informing them of this.
4:00PM- Receive apology email from Sheffield saying message regarding docs yet to be received was sent in error and to disregard. Also that application is under consideration now.
- 2nd Oct 2017: docs surprisingly got to Sheffield in 3 working days, so emailed to let them know. They also told me that I won't be receiving any further emails from Sheffield saying they received my documents although I had seen others receiving confirmation.
- 4th Oct 2017: Emailed to follow up on status on visa and to ensure that Sheffield actually had my docs
- 6th Oct 2017:
2:00PM- Emailed again to complain about how long the whole process is taking
6:00PM- Received email back to say that I requested for an extension until 20th Oct, hence why application has not been looked at yet
6:35PM- Replied back very angry telling them I had informed them already on the 2nd Oct that docs had been received by Sheffield
7:35PM- Received email from them asking for a pre-paid envelope so they can return my docs
8:40PM- Receive another email from them informing me that a decision has been made
11:30PM- Call UKVI to reconfirm that a decision has actually been made, and they confirmed that the system shows a decision made on the 5th Oct
Decision made: 5th Oct 2017
Visa granted: 11th Oct 2017, received email for collection, collected passport and am so happy to see my visa granted!
