Default U.K. Partner Visa - Combining Incomes to meet threshold?

Hi,

I'm a British citizen and my boyfriend of 3 years is Australian. He is currently here on a youth mobility visa and has a full time job. Is it correct that I can combine our incomes to meet the £18,600 threshold as he is currently working in the uk? We both earn between £14,000-15,000.

I read this on the government website:

Sources For Meeting Financial Requirements
"Income from salaried or non-salaried employment of the partner (and/or the applicant if they are in the UK with permission to work). This is referred to as Category A or Category B, depending on the employment history."

Does anyone have any experience of this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Yes, like SDG said, any income that will continue after the visa is granted can be included. ..... From the financial standpoint it is much easier to get a partner or marriage visa if your spouse/ partner is already in the UK working (on a different visa type), because their income from employment can be included.
