Temporary stay in the uk not permanent
We are applying for my spouse's to join family living permanently in the UK visa, but may only stay for 2 years and then go to live overseas again. Does this mean he cannot live in the UK again if we chose to come back a few years later?
many thanks in advance

If you are out of the UK for two years or more then the visa lapses and you start the immigration process again.

The two year rule only applies if you have achieved Indefinite Leave to Remain which takes five years.

Thanks BritInParis and SanDiegogirl for your responses, right now our concern is if we chose to leave the UK after 2 years & want to come back after some time away we can. If we have to apply again, so be it.
It seems more flexible than the green card...
