Default Submitting copies of documents

My wife and I went through the whole procedure of getting her FLR (M), which was approved last month, and I have been giving some advice to a work colleague who is applying for FLR also. She showed me this morning her document checklist (she applied online last night) and it states that with effect from 5 November 2018 applicants can submit either originals or copies of the evidence that is required. This seems to be a huge step forward, since I assume that the issue of getting original bills and bank statements will no longer arise.
