To summarise:

- You are a British citizen and your fiancee is a Malaysian citizen.
- You reside in London and she resides in Kuala Lumpur.
- You have never lived together.
- You wish to bring her to the UK to live with you.

If all that is correct then a fiancee visa is the way to go if you wish to marry in the UK and for her to be able to remain in the UK after your wedding. Alternatively you can marry in Malaysia or a third country and she can apply directly from Malaysia for her spouse visa. If you are married then there is no minimum period you need to be living together before you can apply for a spouse visa.

Thank you very much! My understanding is clear as a whistle now. We're marrying in Kuala Lumpur as her family is massive and there are traditions to follow. We're doing a little reception in London after she's able to get her spouse visa.

You're absolutely right. I had to learn the hard way.
