Spouse Visa for the UK

My wife is Indonesian and lives in Surabaya. I am a UK national, and have lived in the UK since birth. My wife plans to join me here in the UK, and bring her 5 year old son, from a previous relationship. She has sole responsibility for her son, and consent from the father.

My question is this, does she apply for the spouse visa, and add her son during the application process?

Many thanks in advance.

Yes.... read the following website - Apply as a child -

https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/child

You, as the sponsor, will also have to meet the 22,400 GBP financial requirement

Your wife need to apply for a spouse visa for herself and a child dependant visa for her son. These are two separate applications.
