Spouse Visa - Sponsor applying for new Passport

Spouse Visa - Sponsor applying for new Passport
Hi Guys,
Couldn't find a specific answer to this question.
WIfes spouse visa extension has been applied for and to prove I am a British Citizen photocopies of my British Passport were uploaded along with my full birth certificate. I now need to apply for a new passport as it has expired, when applying for a new passport it seems I will get a new passport number.
Will applying for a new British passport for myself affect my wifes spouse visa extension application?
