Spouse Visa renewal FLR-M Experience
#1

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to thank everyone who has helped this Texan gal. I truly appreciate all the advice that has helped us along the way. We applied and did everything ourselves. I was tempted to go with a solicitor but as I felt that we had a straight forward case, we didn't and thank goodness. They wanted to charge £265 for a letter [crazy prices] I still enquired but decided against it.
Not going to lie, it was stressful as heck. My initial spousal visa was granted in Jan 2020. We applied for my FLR-M [29/08/22] but due to my husbands work and mine, we couldn't attend for biometrics any sooner than [08/09/22] which also came with a hefty price. We paid the extra £800 to have the decision faster as my mom is having cancer treatment back in the states and I plan to visit her soon.
We attended the biometrics appointment at 7am, I had already scanned all my documents into the website provided by the UKVI. However I did not actually "submit" them myself as I forgot about the 48 hour rule. I uploaded what felt like loads of documents especially to prove the wages and co-habitation. I was constantly checking I had all my documents. My husband waited for me outside as now with Covid-19 regulations he was not allowed in but he said that the security guard was lovely and chatty which helped his nerves. So after my 7am appointment I received an email at around 07:30 stating that my documents had been submitted.
Around 11:53 I had received an email stating "Application decision" ...But I had just reset our internet hadn't I? .. Just my luck :P Waited what felt like ages... When I finally opened it; IT WAS ACCEPTED!! Woot Woot!! [I may or may no have cried] I am approved until April 2025
My BRP had an attempted delivery [13/09/22] but as I was at work they took it to a TNT secure location. Over an hours drive to get there but it was good to finally have it in hand. It's a huge relief. BRP states its only valid until December 2024 as they are phasing out the physical BRP cards.
Again, I really want to thank every one who has helped us out along the way!! We really appreciate it
