I have ~18 good photographs, hows best to present them?

Microsoft word? say 6 per page, with captions below? Date ordered new-old, or old-new? Hand written / typed captions? Please can anyone offer any advice?

Four or six per page, date order, old to new, captions for context. Those supporting claims made in your covering letter(s) are best, particularly if they also feature friends and family.
