Hi there,

Time really flies... here I am after 4 years and 4 months and now start preparing for my ILR in Aug 2023!!!

Am I correct that GBP 38,400 is the correct amount for cash savings for applying ILR for myself (spouse visa holder) and my son (dependent)?

I am starting to fill in the ILR application form. One of the questions "A penalty for a driving offence, for example disqualification for speeding or no motor insurance".
I have 9 points from 2 x SP30.
Does it mean that I disclose my SP30?
It seems that the question is asking something more serious than just disclosing points.

Declare them. There’s no harm in doing so but not doing so could potentially cause issues.

Hi, I am filling in SET(M) form --- one of the questions ask 'Any time spent outside the UK - Since you started living in the UK have you spent any other time outside the UK?' Then small print in grey states 'Do not include holidays of 2 weeks or less. Include any periods of time you have spent on the Isle of Man, Jersey or Guernsey.'

I have been to -
Amsterdam - 3 days;
Portgual - 4 days;
Hong Kong - 13 days.

Should I disclose all 3 despite less than 2 weeks?

I have another confusing question ......I included my son in my SET(M) application as permitted since he was 15 when I first applied under this category.
Now in the finance section it states :

Additional sponsored children

Is your partner currently sponsoring any additional children?(Required)
You should tell us about any additional children they are sponsoring who need a different type of visa to enter or remain in the UK

Do not include children who are:

• dependants applying on this application
• over 18
• British Citizens
• settled in the UK
• EEA nationals with a right to reside in the UK under EU law

How many additional children are they sponsoring?
If I click 'No', the finance requirement will work out GBP 18,600 which is not right for myself (applicant) and my son (dependent).
If I click 'Yes' ,the finance requirement will work out GBP 22,400 which is the correct amount.
But, according to the question working, it says 'Do not include children who are dependents applying on this application.
I am really confused here......anyone can share some thoughts? TIA.

he is now 20. but when he entered UK with me in 2018, he was 15.

This is what it states on Section 2 Application

Additional applicant

If this is the first time you are applying for leave in this category, you cannot include dependent children over the age of 18. You can include a child who is now 18 or over who was initially granted leave in this category when they were under 18.

You must show that they are still dependent on you for financial support and not leading an independent life, and that they have not formed their own family unit (for example got married or had their own children).

Finally, both myself and son s' ILR SET (M) approved!!!!!
We applied using super priority service but didnt get our results by end of next working day. I had to get my MP involved in order to speed up the process. Anyway, Its happy ending now!!

About citizenship application :-
For myself - I am married to a British citizen so I believe I can apply citizenship right away. Pls correct me if my understanding is incorrect.
For my son - Can he, now 20 yrs old but entered as my dependant, apply citizenship right away? or he must live for 1 more year before applying for citizenship?

I just read through Guide B_OTA - Registration as a British Citizen. If my understanding to the guideline is correct, me as a BNO holder, I cannot apply British Citizenship direct after gaining ILR after 5 years residence even though i am married to a British citizen, becuase I am not qualified as 'Free for Immigration time restrictions' , unless I am applying citizenship via naturalisation. Grateful if any guru can confirm this.
