Spouse Visa - basic income question
Hi all.
My wife is planning to apply for the Spouse Visa at some point this year. I do now earn a high enough salary to meet the income requirement, but only as of the start of this month.
My understanding is that I need to prove I've been earning this amount for at least 6 months (i.e. she can't apply until at least July)...BUT on the other hand, I have been at the same company, with the same job title, for 2 years already - nothing has changed except for my wage. Does this make any difference for the application, or do I need to have been on my current salary for at least 6 months before she can apply? I guess what I'm asking is this: are we proving I've been in the job for 6 months, or are we proving I've earned this salary for 6 months?
Also, a quick follow-up question for when it comes to it - are payslips showing my salary and a letter from my employer sufficient proof for the application? Or do I need anything else?
Cheers for the help.

Re: Spouse Visa - basic income question
You must wait till you have been earning the threshold wage for six months.
You'll need ALL six months pay stubs, your original bank statements corroborating the deposits, a letter confirming the wage, and your employment contract. Also include your P60.

Perfect answer. Thanks for the help!
Just to be sure - I assume my employment contract will need to be an original and not a copy, is that right? Shouldn't be a problem, I'm just curious.
