Default Spouse visa application documentation?

When we apply for a spouse visa, my wife and I will have been married for 3 years (having lived together for 22 years.) It's occurred to me that 90% the bills are in my wife's name, with the exception of a couple of credit cards and bank statements. Besides our marriage certificate, what type of evidence of a relationship should we provide to support our application? We have a year to start getting paperwork together. Thanks.

Perhaps a better question is how many documents should to send to show that your relationship is genuine?

Can I suggest that you have a quick search of the forum? I'm not sure on the answer, but I do know that this has been asked and answered many times before, so hopefully you'll find the answer in a previous thread.

HTH.

Thanks christmasoompa. I will do that. I've also been going on immigration websites and getting ideas like life insurance documents showing each other as the beneficiary, statements from friends who've known you both for a while and text history etc.

Rental agreements/mortgage documents, insurance documents showing one another as beneficiaries, photos of family events over the years, photos of the wedding ceremony with family and friends, joint bank statements, joint utility bills, credit card bill (joint or single) showing one address and obviously the marriage certificate.

Thanks SanDiegogirl. You can always be counted on be helpful. It just occurred to me that we have an investment property where the mortgage is in joint names. Yeh, the only time I've been happy to own a property we've lost tons of money on! (Bought at the height of the market in 2008 before the housing bubble burst!)
