Default Spouse visa accommodation requirements

I'm almost done preparing my wife's visa application. However, I am stuck on the accommodation requirement for entry clearance visa to UK.

Can i use my mother's council home that she receives housing benefit for to sponsor my wife from pakistan? Clearly I'm not accessing public funds as my mum is already in receipt of housing benefits. Please advise asap.

Thanks

Naz

That would inpact on your mother's housing benefit. Would her landlord give pwrmission for her to provide accommodation for your wife ? Where are you planning to live ?

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm planning on living at my mother's for a few months whilst I arrange something more permanent.

My main query is will the ECO accept my mother's council home as adequate accommodation? I know there is no issue of overcrowding

Does recourse to public funds apply to applicant or household?

Yes the housing association would give permission as their is sufficient space to accommodate us as a couple.

I would raise the issue with the Hosuing Association. If they say okay then surely it should be okay for the visa.
