I need some advice please.
My husband failed to meet the IELTS A1 test which would have allowed him to join me on my return to the UK to start a new job after 18 years overseas. Is it best that he joins me as a tourist for some months so that he can improve his English and then return to Mexico to take the test and apply for the visa?
I have been receiving conflicting information that has included looking to apply for a short-term student visa to study English in the UK but course costs are looking prohibitive.
Any other ideas and suggestions welcomed.
Thanks

That is up to you. Your husband doesn’t need a visa to visit the UK and he can study for up to 30 days with leave to enter as a visitor.

Many thanks for the information, it is much appreciated. I was not aware of the 30 day window for study and will take a closer look at this option.
