Spouse failed IELTS A1
I need some advice please.
My husband failed to meet the IELTS A1 test which would have allowed him to join me on my return to the UK to start a new job after 18 years overseas. Is it best that he joins me as a tourist for some months so that he can improve his English and then return to Mexico to take the test and apply for the visa? I have been receiving conflicting information that has included looking to apply for a short-term student visa to study English in the UK but course costs are looking prohibitive. Any other ideas and suggestions welcomed. Thanks |
Re: Spouse failed IELTS A1
That is up to you. Your husband doesn’t need a visa to visit the UK and he can study for up to 30 days with leave to enter as a visitor.

Many thanks for the information, it is much appreciated. I was not aware of the 30 day window for study and will take a closer look at this option.
