Spousal visa: How long do you intend to stay in the UK?

Am doing the online form for settlement visa for spouse. Under Travel Information it asks 'How long do you intend to stay in the UK?'. How does one answer this? Presumably the applicant should answer 'Permanently'?

Further question:
The form also asks 'Have you been issued any visa for the UK, UK Overseas Territories or Commonwealth Country in the last 10 years?' My spouse has been to Australia as a tourist, so presumably we ought to fill in 'Tourist visa'?

Further question:
For English Language Test, I just wish to double-check that it is IELTS Life Skills A1?

>>>>>(from https://www.idp.com):

Who can register for Life Skills Test?

IELTS Life Skills is a test of Speaking and Listening. As it is designed to meet the requirements of UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) for certain visa categories and other immigration purposes. This test is for spouses whose partner (Husband/Wife) is settled down in UK.

There 2 types of Life Skill Test which are A1 & B1
A1 is for Visas & Immigration to further their Stay
B1 is for Visas & Citizenship

Thanks again, BritInParis.

Do you know have long the Life Skill Test is valid for? Can't find that on the IDP website.

Stick to the official UK government websites. If you click through you'll see it's two years.

Family details section asks about children.

1) Is there a definition of children, that is individuals below say 18 years of old?

2) Is there a definition of dependent children? Presumably all children below say 18 would be dependent? What about children older than 18 but still dependent eg attending college?

Family details sections asks about my spouse's parents.

Both parents were born in an Asian country nearly a century ago; both now deceased. No birth certificates available. Their full dates of birth are not known. In their passports, it gives the year of birth. The online application system does not seem to accept only year. What do I do, eg should I enter 01/01/XX?
