i'm a lurker and i just made this account to ask a question
so i applied for spouse visa, some time ago also long story but anyways, they have my passport and last email we got is "not straightforward" was like a week ago and now i'm getting a creepy email telling me i have a flight ticket from Manchester to Doha to Kuwait (which is my country, Kuwait) and i didn't book anything, nor i even can, i don't have my passport

i'm super creeped out by the email. what is going on???? are they maybe sending my documents and passport back? and if so, i didn't get an approval nor a refusal yet...only not straightforward and we're waiting...do they sometimes send back the papers before the "decision made" email?

You do not need a passport to book a flight ticket.

It actually sounds like someone has used your credit card to book a ticket. Personally I would be speaking to your credit card company, asap and reporting it is a probably fraudulent transaction.

What domain (the bit after the "@") did the email come from? And was the first part (the bit before the "@") a person's name or some sort of company, title, or department e.g. "visa processing", "ticketing", or "panam-airline"? ..... Please don't post the entire email address as it will be harvested by spammers.

That's nothing to do with your visa app though, as said above, sounds like you've been the victim of fraud. Hope you can sort it.

I agree with Pollyana and Christmasoompa that it sounds like a fraud/ ID theft issue. That you have a calendar entry makes me think that there is probably another email, perhaps in a junk/spam folder, that created the calendar entry. In any case, I would take it up with your credit card issuer/bank as an urgent priority.

And as the flight appears to be today I would contact your credit card company with some urgency. If you have online access to your credit cards, check the transactions NOW and if you find a dodgy one get that card cancelled before they use it again.
