Hi all,

I would like to know more about the requirements once your spouse arrives in the UK. From my understanding they need to collect something (not sure what it is??) from a post office we chose before. I also remember reading that we needed to go to the job centre to get a national insurance number. Is that correct? Are there any other steps or guidance on things that need to be done?

Your wife will need to collect her BRP from the Post Office within ten days of her arrival in the UK. She should also apply for a NINO by telephone. She will then usually be given an appointment to be interviewed at a local Jobcentre Plus after which her NINO should be sent to her by post.
