registering canadian born children in the UK
Hi there we are permanent residents in canada since 2011,. we are currently applying for citizenship and my daughter is married to a canadian they have two children but we also want them to be registered in the UK i have googled this and looked on the goverment site but i couldnt find a definate answer do we just apply for british passports for them because their mother is british or do we need to register them in england first and if so does anyone know the number of the form we need to use to do this thankyou for any help

I just did a dry run on the gov.Uk site - have you tried that? It seems to let you get through to supplying parents details etc even without having a naturalization certificate or similar so I presume that info gives them what it needs. I didn’t go any further but that site is quite easy to use.

i did look at the site but it said you couldnt apply for passports unless they were registered in the UK unless i read it wrong i think my daughter will have to call the website isnt that clear it said something about 1200 pounds for each child to register them

That’s if your grandchildren weren’t British at birth. If your daughter was born in the UK then your grandchildren will automatically be British by descent.
