Potential Return w/ Canadian OH
Basically the field life is getting to me, and there's the square root of Naff all available in Alberta, and anything that is available sounds like it you would be binned at the drop of a hat
Interviewing next week for a job back in Scotland, and feel confident about it.
Just wanted to see if there was a good place to find out information about the Tier 5 YMV for my girlfriend, or if anyone here knows much about it.
She's hoping to work part time and study as a Veterinary Nurse, or potentially find an RVN apprenticeship (not unheard of, but rare). Is working and studying possible on this visa?
We can meet all the requirements listed online for it (savings etc) but does it really only take 3 weeks to issue it?
We are also planning to get married, but it wouldn't be until 2017/18 - is it best to do this before the YMV expires and needs to renew or would she change onto a different visa if we got married? And would she need to leave the country?
We'd meet the income requirements for a non-EU spouse by quite a margin anyway, would this be an easier route?

Most of the answers to your questions can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/tier-5-youth-mobility/
If you marry before the Tier 5 visa expires it means that your then-wife can switch onto a spouse visa within the UK and both your incomes would count towards the financial requirements which is a big boon.
Does your girlfriend have any recent European ancestry? Parents or grandparents born in Europe? If so she may be eligible for an ancestry visa or EU/EEA passport which would make things even easier.
