Ok..so your leaving Oz for UK...but want to keep door ajar for future/kids etc...ie oz passports


So, you leave oz on oz passport and return in UK on Uk passport on one way ticket?

What do you tell customs if they ask you if one way ticket and what put on outward declaration card at airport obviously not leaving permanently?

Cant get straight answer from authiorities

If you are an Australian citizen then you will never have a problem returning to Australia. If you are a British citizen then you have no problem entering the UK. Provided you are carrying both Australian and British passports then no immigration official is going to ask you any questions.

Entering the UK on a British passport is a non issue. You don't need to explain or justify anything. ..... Tell they "Hey! We're home!".

The "authorities" may be confused why you are even asking the question.

BTW "Customs" is interested in your luggage and what you're carrying, "Immigration" is interested in passports and visas.

Doesn't really matter what you put on the exit card - it's only for stats. No one is going to hold you to what you put on it so "leaving permanently" is just fine if that is what you think you're doing

Put what you like on the exit card, I leave permanently a least twice a year
