Passport for new baby born overseas
Hi all, hope everything well. I've had a look around the forum for previous answers on this so sorry if I'm covering old ground.
Both myself and my wife are British - our baby is to be born soon in Jordan where we live all being well. Has anyone got any experience of applying for a UK passport for a baby born overseas? It seems a bit of a hassle - all of the documents we need (our birth certificates etc, it even asks for grandparents' details) are back home in the UK, as are all the people we have known for at least two years so could countersign the passport photos. It seems that scanned documents aren't allowed.
I'm sure this is doable, just a bit of a pain. Was wondering if it really is this complex and if others have gone through the same process. Embassy/passport helpline etc not being much help so far, understandable I guess given the circumstances!
Any help appreciated.

With the possible exception of having a translation of the local birth certificate it’s no more difficult than applying for a first time child passport in the UK.
If no-one is able to send you the certificates from home then you can order new copies from the General Register Office.

There is no need for a solicitor, the OP has been given the appropriate advice already. Same as other threads where you're suggesting that people contact a solicitor, even though their queries have been resolved.
