Passport after interview

Hi,

I m applying for my 1st UK passport from overseas. Previously had my interview last week in Bangkok. Interview seem to have been very good. I read somewhere you are suposed to recieve a text msg within 48hrs after the interview, but haven’t recieved it. And also they only send the msg once the passport is dispatched. Got me all confused. Called them and they told me it hasn’t been issued yet. What does that mean? What’s happening at this stage?

It won’t have been issued yet. The results of your interview will need to reach your passport examiner first and they will need to decide whether they are satisfied or need to do more.

Thanks for your reply. Any idea how long it takes until they reach a decision?

How long is a piece of string? Every application will be different depending on your circumstances but the interview is normally held towards the end of the process.
