Obtaining UK citizenship for Canadian born son

My son is 30, born in Canada in 1980, and I am a UK born female. He would like to see about getting UK citizenship/passport. I looked at the Home Office site but there seem to be so many ifs, ands and buts and some DOB-based criteria that I didn't come out of it with a clear picture of how to go about this. Anyone know?

It's written for everyone. There is no residence requirement. Read, follow instructions, etc.
