NEW BRP rules for overseas applicants?
Read this in the other forum. Can't keep up with the changes. More study involved than working in IT.
So if you are issued your visa after the dates stated you need to get this card and also leave your country withing 30 days?? Good luck on those who have to sell property. Unless I'm reading it wrong.
Here is the international rollout schedule for biometric resident permits for overseas applicants for visas of longer than 6 months. Once your country goes live you will receive a temporary vignette in your passport which gives you 30 days from the visa issue date to travel to the UK and you have 10 days after arrival to collect your BRP from a designated post office.

You have 30 days to enter the UK from the date you specify on your application. So you can push it forward several months if you want. This is actually preferable to the old system where you had three months from the date of issue whether you were ready or not or face paying another full set of fees to extend your stay by only the time you had missed.

Sorry still don't get it.
We put 25th May expected date of travel.
If they don't issue our visa until July that is out of our control.
I assume it's from the date its issued otherwise it is total nonsense.

You'd have 30 days from the date you specified. So if you were approved on 20 April and your specified date was 20 July then you would be able to enter between 20 July and 19 August.

So, (again, the I formation they provide is totally inadequate) if you had received your Visa dates prior to May but entered the UK after May, are you still supposed to get a BRC do you think? Confusing because you won't have entered anything.

Except if you look at the schedule of introduction the USA isn't being added till May.

This means if you have your visa approved from the USA before 31 May then you'll receive a normal vignette endorsed for the length of your visa as previously. After 31 May you'll receive a temporary 30 day vignette and you'll need to collect your BRC from the Post Office after you arrive.

Re: NEW BRP rules for overseas applicants?
I believe we don't need to be concerned about this BRP as my spouses visa was granted on the 28 May.
Looks like Uruguay is in the 'Rest of the World' rolling out 31st July
Please correct me if I am wrong

Check your wife's passport. Is the visa valid for 30 days or 2.5 years?
