Need Some Advice bringing US Spouse back through EU

Hello, I am a dual Irish/UK Citizen, currently living in the US, I am married to a US Citizen and we are planning on moving to Ireland (Most of my family is there), I know obviously it would be Stamp4? That we apply for, from what everyone has been telling me it's really straight forward but I want to be 100% certain before literally packing up life here and attempting it. From what I hear we simply fly to Dublin, tell the passport control officers of our intentions, then we'll have to go to the local Police/GardaĆ HQ and present passports, marriage cert and they usually give the stamp and get the residence card rolling in the mail? Does that sound correct? I was looking for other peoples experiences with this.
