Default Moving to the UK with wife and son

I applied for a visa for my wife here:

https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/home/welcome

There was no mention of income requirements at this stage, but I did pay £960 for IHS and £1530 for the vias application.

Next question, what do I need to do to move my US born 3 year old son back to the UK ?

Whether you meet the financial requirements will be assessed by the ECO when they receive your application.

Just his British passport. Start here: https://www.gov.uk/overseas-passports

You may also wish to consider consular birth registration. It's optional but will provide you and your son with permanent evidence of his entitlement to British citizenship unlike a passport. More information can be found on the BE wiki here.

Look at the documents here: https://www.gov.uk/government/public...ent-form-vaf4a

Appendix 2 details the financial requirements. Other documents detail all the supporting documents you need to provide.

I truly hope you haven't 'jumped the gun' with the application and submitted/paid without reading the full procedure. Your wife is the applicant, not you. You are the sponsor.

? It's £600 for the IHS for a 33 month spouse visa.
The IHS calculator
https://www.immigration-health-surch...k/checker/type

Details about the IHS charges.
https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigr...n/how-much-pay

"You’ll have to pay:

£150 per year as a student, eg £300 for a 2-year visa
£200 per year for all other visa and immigration applications, eg £1,000 for a 5-year visa

Dependants usually need to pay the same amount as you."

"You’ll pay half of the yearly amount if your application includes part of a year that is less than 6 months.

You’ll pay for a whole year if you’re application includes part of a year that is more than 6 months."

Jeez, I'd love that exchange rate. Flippin' Aussie dollar, if it goes any lower it'll need a pedicure.

Presume your son is your biological son and that YOU were born and bred in the UK.

In that case your son is already British and you just need to get him a British passport. You do not need to sponsor him so the financial requirements are just for your US wife.

Might I suggest you do not keep starting new threads for the same questions - you'll find people will get confused as will the answers.

OK, next question.

I can't find where to send my paperwork, it simply states on my appointment confirmation to send Settlement Applications to Sheffield.

Where in Sheffield ?

Except they managed to cock up the post code and address order. The correct address according to Royal Mail is:

International Operations and Visas
Home Office
Vulcan House
6 Millsands
SHEFFIELD
S3 8NU
UNITED KINGDOM

Mine went to NY, so the Sheffield address wasn't on my radar screen. Good catch BiP
