moving to UK as couple - sponsorship form
First question to Forum. I tried searching the Forum but couldn't find the answer so here goes...
I'm British living in the US. My American wife and I want to move back to the UK together in late August but are having big confusion over the Sponsorship Undertaking Form. The SU07/12 form says clearly it is only for sponsors living in the UK. I am my wife's sponsor but am living in the US. Is there another form? While I saw a mention of one, the mention was unspecific with no link or detail. I can't find anything on gov.uk.
We can't be the only ones trying to move back together. Have any of you managed to move back to UK as a couple at the same time and even on the same flight? How did you do it and what forms/letters/etc did you use? If you used it, how did you use the SU07/12 form?
Thanks

Re: moving to UK as couple - sponsorship form
No, you don't use the SU07/12 form at all. That is for sponsors of dependent adults not spouses.
Read the following website carefully to see what you need to do:
https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa
You complete the application on line, get all your documents together and send to Sheffield (or scanned depending on where the applicant currently lives)
This forum has loads of threads on people returning/moving to the UK
Read the following carefully to see how you qualify under the financial requirements:
https://assets.publishing.service.go...ent-ext_1_.pdf
Depending on how you qualify will determine how and when the applicant can travel to the UK.

Re: moving to UK as couple - sponsorship form
Thanks SanDiegogirl for your reply
We're actually much closer to applying and have gone through all the steps you mentioned.
Re: the SU07 form, we have had conflicting advice (some legal, some from those who've gone through the process). Some people say it's not required, some say it is. But it clearly applies to situations where the sponsor is resident in the UK. On gov/uk, it merely say "Use ‘Form SU07’ to support the application of a person who is applying to come to the UK to visit or settle. This form is to confirm that you will be responsible for the applicant’s maintenance, accommodation and care, without relying on public funds (etc.)" It does not specify which category the form is created for.
Immigration is such fun. I remember my application to come to the US for a work visa. The university's lawyer was worse than useless.

On the following website
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigrat...family-members
under: Adult dependent relative
there is the statement under Financial requirements:
E-ECDR.3.2. If the applicant’s sponsor is a British Citizen or settled in the UK, the applicant must provide an undertaking signed by the sponsor confirming that the applicant will have no recourse to public funds, and that the sponsor will be responsible for their maintenance, accommodation and care, for a period of 5 years from the date the applicant enters the UK if they are granted indefinite leave to enter.
The sponsor signs SU07 to undertake this responsibility:
https://www.gov.uk/government/public...cant-form-su07
This form is to confirm that you will be responsible for the applicant’s maintenance, accommodation and care, without relying on public funds:
for at least 5 years, if they are applying to settle
throughout their stay in the UK, if they are applying to visit
Form SU07 is not mentioned as form which has to be included with spouse settlement applications.
