Moving to England with my Turkish husband.
Hello, I and my husband are hoping to move to the UK in the upcoming months. I am a British citizen and my husband is Turkish. We got married over a year ago and are currently living in Turkey. I and my husband have been looking at our options of how we can settle in the UK. From all the research I have done so far, my understanding is that I have to be able to sponsor him. I have been to the consulates office to ask questions, but they told me that they could not help us since they do not take visa applications.
We've read on the gov website that there are several ways: 5-year route or other visa types (standard visitor visa, student visa, etc.) which can be extended via Ankara Agreement. Also, there is Surinder Singh route.
Can anyone advise us on what route to take? What are the pros and cons of each route? We would appreciate if you could share with us any experience you have had.
